The Central Operations team is a cross-functional team tasked with optimizing the marketplace through two levers, pricing and resource allocation, while defining and guiding the business strategy across SSL. The team’s regional scope gives it a unique exposure to a wide range of areas and marketplace conditions across the country. This person will lead our resource management and pricing strategy for key cities in Mexico while actively contributing in defining the long-term strategy in those cities.

There is a high degree of collaboration in this role: you will work closely with the operations, marketing, and product teams, along with your Central Operations peers in other regions, to create, guide and execute impactful strategies. This role is ideal for someone looking to have ownership on the business strategy, work in a fast-paced & data driven environment, manage one direct report, and gain exposure to a full suite of projects and functions across the business

Role Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the long-term business strategy & value proposition using internal, external, qualitative and quantitative data sources with a strategic, data-driven and user-centric approach.
  • Leading with full ownership of performance management in your region from defining and modeling business OKRs in alignment with business strategy to holding others & yourself accountable on your markets performance.
  • Managing cross-functional projects & stakeholders to make sure every area is aligned with our strategic and tactical guidelines while contributing towards the same goal.
  • Optimizing resource allocation to ensure we reach our business goals through investment decisions across cities and channels guided by a data-driven and business-driven mindset.
  • Owning pricing in your region by defining the long-term pricing strategy and optimizing short-term levers with a data-driven approach.
  • Contributing to the development of pricing and resource allocation frameworks by testing new initiatives, iterating on existing ones, sharing best practices and working closely with your peers from different areas and seniority levels.
  • Overseeing the execution of initiatives in your markets coordinating with all relevant functions, reacting quickly to changes in the marketplace, always aiming to anticipate different scenarios and having clear governance mechanisms.
  • Contributing to improve existing & create new processes both in your markets and across SSL.
  • Contributing to talent development.

Role Qualifications

  • Clear strategic thinker: You are able to navigate ambiguous, data-rich environments to define a strategic vision and structure it into actionable components for a team.
  • Proven people and project manager: You have a track-record managing multi-functional projects and are able to achieve results through resources that do not report directly to you. You have a track record of managing a team of direct reports and developing key talent.
  • Detail-focused, hands-on implementer: You should be excited about experimenting, figuring out how to get things done yourself and failing fast so that we can continuously improve. You thrive on executing a project, showing an impact, and moving onto the next challenge.
  • Data-driven manager: The use of logic and data is central to your decision-making process. It is paramount to strategies you craft and decisions you make.
