Team Overview

As one of DiDi  tax hires, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of DiDi growth trajectory by ensuring that quality tax operations are created to drive / Foods and Fintech business operations. As a Tax Manager, you will work closely with other key stakeholders such as accounting, legal, Ops, GA, comercial, among otheres. You will lead our initiatives to build a successful tax function within the accounting team and across other areas. You will also participate in implementing processes and controls to enhance financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate aspires to grow with DiDi and is willing to support all business areas whenever needed.

Role Responsibilities

  • Facilitating and managing the preparation and review of the company's federal tax returns, as well as timely and accurately complete all tax returns.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely filing of consolidated federal, state and local income tax returns and other business-related returns.
  • Seeking opportunities to improve the processing of the company's tax procedures, and implement them.
  • Developing and implement a strategic tax plan for all necessary federal and state taxes.
  • Directing tax team members in preparing components of the federal tax return and other tax documents.
  • Planning and developing a general schedule of returns and coordinate times and entries with the tax team.
  • Maintaining effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
  • Managing and facilitate SAT audits related to direct, indirecct, TP and international tax: prepare responses, develop schedules, etc.
  • Monitoring tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team, and create strategies to capitalize on changes in tax legislation.
  • Providing efficient support through various internal audits and special projects in tax matters.
  • Reviewing tax returns and quarterly and annual tax projections.
  • Directing and educating members of the tax team to achieve higher levels of effectiveness and involvement.

 

Role Qualifications

  • Public Accountant with more than 7 years of experience in a position in the tax area and at least 2 years of experience in a management position, preferably having some specialty in the tax area and having worked in a big four and multinational company.
  • Extensive tax knowledge of companies in different industries, preferable tech and digital platforms.
  • Strong tax / accounting, analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
  • Get used to manage with local, state and federal reporting requirements in Mexico and LatAm.
  • Solid experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
  • Strong ability to use accounting and project management best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other tax team members.
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
