Team Overview

The Tax Compliance Manager will be responsible for managing and ensuring full compliance with all direct and indirect tax obligations for designated legal entities in Brazil.


This role oversees the timely and accurate preparation, review, and submission of tax returns, coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, and ensures adherence to local tax laws and corporate policies. 


The manager will also support tax audits and implement process improvements.

Role Responsibilities

Compliance & Reporting



  • Oversee preparation, review, and filing of all federal and municipal tax returns (IRPJ, CSLL, PIS, Cofins, ISS, Retidos etc.)

  • Manage tax returns obligations 

  • Ensure accurate tax accounting and reconciliations in accordance with Brazilian GAAP and company policies

  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business


Tax Risk Management



  • Support tax audits by tax authorities

  • Manage and mitigate tax risks, ensuring proper documentation and compliance, when applicable

  • Maintain robust internal controls over tax processes


Advisory & Business Partnering



  • Aligned with the tax planning area, support tax planning and optimization initiatives in line with compliance requirements

  • Liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, and legal counsel when needed


Process Improvement & Systems



  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and digital solutions to increase efficiency and accuracy

  • Ensure proper use and updates of ERP and tax solution


Team Leadership



  • Manage of tax analysts 

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and compliance excellence

Role Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related fields

  • Solid experience in Brazilian tax compliance (direct and indirect taxes) — ideally 5+ years in similar roles

  • Strong knowledge of Brazilian tax legislation, tax returns, and tax accounting standards

  • Proficiency with ERP systems and tax compliance solutions

  • Proactive and hands-on attitude with strong problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to work with tight deadlines

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams 

  • Familiarity with tax digitalization trends and automation projects

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Fluent in English
