Team Overview

The User comms strategy manager role  for DiDi Food across Latin America offers a unique opportunity to lead strategic growth in one of the region’s most dynamic and fast-paced digital ecosystems. We are looking for a seasoned, data-driven strategist passionate about marketing, communications,  user engagement & acquisition, capable of turning complex data into actionable insights and high-impact execution. This role is designed for a manager who can think strategically, drive cross-functional alignment, and deliver outstanding results. You will define and evolve our regional in-app communication and engagement strategy, ensuring that every message, placement, and user experience drives conversion, retention, and long-term loyalty.

Role Responsibilities


  • Define and lead the regional strategy for in-app communications and user engagement, ensuring strong alignment with growth, retention, and conversion goals across Spanish-speaking Latin America.

  • Partner with cross-functional leads (Marketing, Product, Ops, Creative, and Data Science) to shape initiatives that elevate the overall Eater experience and business impact.

  • Identify behavioral and segmentation insights to design personalized journeys and optimize engagement at every lifecycle stage.

  • Translate complex data into clear narratives and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.

  • Manage cross-country alignment, providing strategic guidance to local marketing and operations teams.

  • Evaluate emerging trends, technologies, and methodologies to continuously evolve DiDi Food’s engagement and communication strategy.

  • Develop and manage   planning for in-app communications, ensuring alignment with overall business growth goals.

  • Implement A/B testing and experimentation to refine communication strategies and identify opportunities for enhancement.

  • Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to assess the performance of engagement efforts and in-app communications.

  • Act as the main strategic partner for key stakeholders in Operations, Product, and Marketing, balancing short-term priorities with long-term strategic goals.

  • Identify key insights, trends, and opportunities to optimize messaging and maximize user engagement.

  • Constantly negotiate and communicate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful execution of engagement initiatives.

  • Lead communication efforts to maximize eater engagement through other channels, including partnerships, PR, SOME,  paid marketing, brand campaigns, and more.

  • Work closely with the product team responsible for in-app communications, providing valuable input and insights to guide the product development process of new experiments &  functionalities within the app to enhance communication capabilities..


 

Role Qualifications


  • 7+ years of experience in marketing strategy, user engagement, or digital communications, ideally within tech, food delivery, or consumer platforms.

  • Proven success leading cross-functional projects.

  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills; able to drive alignment across organizations.

  • Deep understanding of user segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and in-app communication ecosystems.

  • Hands-on, resourceful, and entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable navigating ambiguity and setting structure in dynamic contexts.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

  • Passion for marketing and communications with a deep understanding of industry trends and best practices.

  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to drive marketing initiatives.

  • Experience managing high-performing stakeholders

  • Used to navigate ambiguous, data-rich environments to define a strategic vision and structure it into actionable components for a team.

  • Proficiency in data analytics tools (SQL, Python, R, Power BI, or similar).

  • Full proficiency in English and Spanish.
