Team Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Manager to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have solid corporate experience with a strong focus on technology, innovation sector having worked with consulting and general advice to business projects. Fintech background would be a Plus. You will be responsible for managing corporate legal matters, handling complex contracts and negotiations and supporting product launches and an array of new initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of the intersection between law, technology, and business, along with the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams, while mentoring and coaching your own team.

Role Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:



  • Corporate Legal Matters: Advise and manage corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory issues across the organization. 

  • Contracts and Negotiations: Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts related to technology, innovation, and business initiatives, including software licenses, partnership agreements, and vendor contracts.

  • Product Launches & Initiatives: Provide legal support for new product launches and business initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations while protecting the company's interests.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including product, engineering, business development, and marketing, to provide legal guidance and mitigate risks.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring that business decisions are made with full consideration of legal implications.

  • Innovation & Tech Focus: Stay current with legal developments in technology, data privacy, and intellectual property to ensure the company is well-positioned in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.

  • Dispute Resolution: Oversee legal disputes and work with external counsel when necessary to resolve complex legal issues.

  • Training & Leadership: Lead and mentor junior legal staff, providing guidance on legal best practices, particularly in areas involving technology and business innovation.

Role Qualifications

Requirements:



  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of legal experience, with a focus on technology, innovation, and business projects. Fintech background would be a Plus.

  • Education: Law degree from an accredited institution and membership in a relevant legal bar association.

  • Corporate Expertise: Strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and contract law.

  • Negotiation Skills: Proven experience in handling complex negotiations and high-value contracts.

  • Product & Tech Knowledge: Familiarity with the legal aspects of product development, data privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent Spanish and English verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders. 

  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Cross-Functional Experience: Experience working in a cross-functional environment, collaborating with teams across departments.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and mentorship abilities, with a proactive approach to legal matters.
