Team Overview

You'll join the New Zealand operations team, owning the day-to-day health and growth of our local business. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role at the centre of the market: you'll run and iterate local operations end to end, keep a close eye on how our product performs for riders and drivers, and act as the connective tissue between NZ and the regional Data, Marketing, Product, and Finance teams. New Zealand is a compact but fiercely competitive market, and the team is small — scope is broad, feedback loops are short, and the impact of your decisions shows up in the numbers within the week. We're also changing how the team works: AI tooling is part of the operating model, not a side experiment, so you'll be expected to use it to move faster than a team this size normally could.

Role Responsibilities

  • Running day-to-day operations for the NZ market — the local operating calendar, campaigns and initiatives — and continuously analysing rider and driver behaviour to find what's working, what isn't, and what to change next

  • Acting as the hub between local and central teams — Product, Data, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service and regional ops — translating NZ market needs into clear requirements and tracking projects through to delivery

  • Using AI to accelerate the work: building tools and workflows into analysis, reporting, monitoring and daily execution, so a small team operates like a much bigger one

Role Qualifications

  • [3–5]+ years in operations, strategy, consulting or a similarly analytical, execution-heavy commercial role, plus real comfort with ambiguity and broad scope — small team, you pick things up without being asked; marketplace / rideshare / delivery / e-commerce experience is a strong plus

  • Strong quantitative and commercial judgment: fluent in spreadsheets, you reason from data rather than anecdote, and you can trade off growth, cost and user experience — and explain that trade-off in one page

  • A demonstrated track record of using AI in real work — concrete workflows or tools you've built that saved time or improved decision quality, not just familiarity; prompt design, automation or light scripting is highly valued

  • Excellent written and verbal English, with the credibility to influence people who don't report to you

  • Deep familiarity with the New Zealand market — its regulatory environment, competitive landscape and consumer behaviour — is a huge plus
