Team Overview

We are looking for a Partnerships regional lead to join the team and report directly to the  Director. This leadership role sits at the intersection of commercial growth, strategy, and team development, and will play a foundational role in shaping, defining, and scaling the partnerships area to drive impact at both a brand and platform level.

The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who is commercially minded, highly skilled in stakeholder management, and capable of translating high-level vision into clear execution plans. This person will not only own key executive-level relationships and initiatives but will also build and lead the partnerships team, guiding them to uncover and execute new opportunities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the partnerships team (including Partnerships Managers), fostering a high-performance culture, providing strategic guidance, and managing day-to-day team operations.

  • Area Definition & Strategy: Partner closely with the Director to define the vision, build the operational framework, and scale the partnerships department. Develop overarching partnership strategies aligned with broader business objectives and brand priorities.

  • Stakeholder Management & Implementation: Act as the main point of contact for complex, high-value implementations. Manage and align both external partner leadership and key local/regional internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of partnership initiatives.

  • Strategic Relationship Management: Lead high-level negotiations and oversee the portfolio of strategic partnerships (with a focus on top-tier consumer brands), ensuring strong performance, mutual growth, and long-term value creation.

  • Performance & Optimization: Oversee the department's performance, regularly reviewing key metrics, identifying macro trends, and ensuring data-informed decisions for strategy optimization and budget allocation across the team.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with cross-functional leadership (Product, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal) to eliminate roadblocks, ensure alignment, and guarantee the scalability of new partnership models and pilots.

  • Thought Leadership: Act as a strategic right-hand to the Director, bringing structure, advanced insights, and innovative recommendations to leadership discussions.

Role Qualifications

  • Proven Experience: Significant experience in partnerships, business development, or commercial strategy, with a strong track record of managing, developing, and inspiring a high-performing team.

  • Strategic & Commercial Acumen: Exceptional business sense with the ability to design department-level strategies and balance short-term performance with a long-term partnership vision.

  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to manage complex relationships and influence both external executive partners and internal stakeholders across different levels and departments.

  • Builder Mentality: Experience or strong capability in defining processes, establishing frameworks, and building an area/function from the ground up in a fast-paced environment.

  • Analytical Rigor: Highly analytical and comfortable leveraging performance metrics and data to guide team decisions and strategy.

  • Autonomy & Proactivity: Highly structured and proactive, able to operate with a high degree of autonomy while remaining fully aligned with the Director’s overarching vision.

  • Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills in English (and local language, if applicable), capable of driving consensus among diverse groups.

  • This is a high-impact leadership role with direct exposure to executive management, ownership of the partnership strategy, and the opportunity to fundamentally shape how partnerships contribute to DiDi's growth and innovation.
